A Little Deeper

This coffee just feels good. From bean to cup, the whole process is filled with smells and tastes that create a feeling of familiarity. Heavy floral aromas hit us first, which then developed into forest fruits and fresh green trees. Think of a crisp autumn Saturday morning when you have the freedom of the day. A super refreshing cup, with a bright and lively body. Tastes of raspberry, dandelion & burdock and Ribena are well balanced, with a perfectly rounded finishing move. A true Small Facet filter.

In North-West Nicaragua, sisters and third-generation coffee producers, Ana and Martha Albir, run Finca Bethania. Their ethos of sustainability and environmental protection is at the heart of everything they do at their farm. From recycling water back to rivers, to preserving the natural forest and its ecosystem that surrounds, their efforts have led them to becoming certified by the Rainforest Alliance.

Ana and Martha work closely with surrounding producer families and run a dry mill so more of the process can be accessible to local growers. This dry mill also services their farms and greenhouse, which were built in 2020 to grow more experimental coffee, delicate varietals and coffee of relatives and non-related producers in the area. By educating those around them and creating an open source of coffee knowledge for local growers, they’re hoping to provide more visibility and fairer prices for the coffee that grows in the region. It’s our pleasure to have this beautiful coffee from Finca Bethania, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
